It is common in Vietnam when people talk about hobbies. In this lesson, we will learn some vocabulary to describe hobbies and some expressions to say what you love or hate.
VOCABULARY
bí kíp : the secret to achieve sth
cua gái : seduce a girl
điểm chung: things in common
tiểu thuyết: novel
lãng mạn: romantic
đẹp trai: handsome
cơ bắp: muscular
nam tính : manly

yêu: love
thích : like
không thích: dislike
ghét: hate
e.g
Em thích đọc tiểu thuyết lãng mạn.
Tôi không thích chơi thể thao.
Anh ghét chơi thể thao.

S + THÍCH/ KHÔNG THÍCH/ GHÉT + V/ N
S + YÊU + N
Note:
Thích/ không thích/ ghét can be followed by a verb or a noun
But yêu can be followed by nouns only.
E.g
Tôi thích chơi thể thao (chơi is a verb)
Tôi yêu thể thao (not: Tôi yêu chơi thể thao)
Tôi thích đọc sách. (đọc is a verb)
Tôi yêu sách (not : Tôi yêu đọc sách)
CŨNG
Use “Cũng” if you have sth in common with the speaker
E.g
Em thích đọc tiểu thuyết lãng mạn.
Anh cũng thích đọc tiểu thuyết. Em thích ăn gì?
Em thích ăn kem.
Anh cũng thích ăn kem. Em thích chơi thể thao không?
Em không thích chơi thể thao.
Anh cũng ghét chơi thể thao lắm.
Remember to add “cũng” before the verb.
