A complete beginner need reach to level 3 to be able to stay in Vietnam.
Level 00: VIETNAMESE PRONUNCIATION
If you are a complete beginner you should start learning Vietnamese pronunciation, After this course, you would be able to pronounce any Vietnamese word correctly even without understanding the meaning of it. This course will last from 4 to 8 hours depending on each student. And of course, this is just in the Southern Vietnamese dialect.
At this level, teachers are very important. They will help you to correct every single mistake. If you can’t make the sound correct, especially love tones, It doesn’t matter how much you know about the Vietnamese language, native Vietnamese would easily misunderstand your ideas.
Level 01: COMPLETE VIETNAMESE COURSES – BEGINNER
After the Vietnamese pronunciation, you are ready to start a simple conversation. In this level, learners have a chance to practice simple topics such as greetings, asking about time, age, directions, ordering food, personal information. Vietnamese for beginner level A1 lasts from 24 to 48 hours depending on its students.
Vietnamese Teacher’s role in this level is also very important. They will help you with key Vietnamese grammar structures, common Vietnamese phrases which is the foundation for your higher levels
Level 02: COMPLETE VIETNAMESE COURSES – ELEMENTARY
After level one, you are ready to start level two. At this level, even this is still for beginners, however, what you learn will be a bit more complicated. After this Vietnamese for beginner level A2, you can create longer sentences, handle some conversations when talking about some topics that you familiar with.
Similar to level one, teachers at this level still plays a very important role, since their main jobs are to correct your mistakes in pronunciation, grammar, they will also help you to introduce some key phrases that are practical, communicative instead of too formal.
Level 03: COMPLETE VIETNAMESE COURSES – LOWER INTERMEDIATE
Level 3 is the first level of intermediate level, learning Vietnamese from this level would be more interesting because, at this moment, you can express yourself in Vietnamese more freely. However, you still need to expand your knowledge, vocabulary on more topics and learn how to deal with more complicated situations.
Vietnamese teacher at this level becomes less important, their only role to initiate you to speak more, introducing some more complicated grammar structures and help to answer your questions. Therefore, classes for intermediate learners are mostly in Vietnamese rather than in English.
Level 04: COMPLETE VIETNAMESE COURSES – UPPER INTERMEDIATE
When you reach this level that means you’re ready to go to Vietnam because you now can handle most of the situations likely to happen in Vietnam. Also when you are in Vietnam while you learn the language, the process would be even faster.
Teacher’s role at level 3 and level 4 are very similar, however, you are supposed to speak faster and understanding better after you finish this level. Vietnamese tutor might speak faster, you need to adapt to this speed just so you won’t get shocked when talking to other normal native Vietnamese.
Level 05: COMPLETE VIETNAMESE COURSES – LOWER ADVANCED
If your main purpose is to communicate in Vietnamese, then when you finish level four , you should stop learning and start making friends with other native Vietnamese. Also, you should expose yourself to the Vietnamese environments, such as: watching Vietnamese movie, news, etc..
