The Mid-Autumn Festival in Vietnam is a festival primarily for youth. Parents purchase their kids different kinds of lanterns, sweets and funny masks during the festival.

Rice is harvested in Vietnam prior to the 15th day of the 8th lunar month (mid-autumn). Any household then offers offerings to the Earth’s God. Although parents are engaged in farming, they do not have much time to take care of their children; hence, they make good use of the festival holiday to play with their children.
